March Gelli Print
Original 1st proof Gelli Print
from Gelli print
To Note Card
I don’t have a title yet for this yet.
The original size of the gelli medium is 5x5 so I’m working small so I get the process down.
My thought process is like cleaning out one my junk drawers. The large image at the top is
a scan of the original geli print. (a link to the process) https://medwayfineprintmakers.co.uk/2015/03/21/gelli-prints-monoprinting-with-a-jelly-plate/
Recently, I decided to explore different mediums and see how I can incorporate what I learn there with my photography. I’ve explored Polaroid transfers, digital transfers, making digital negatives, Cyano Types, , etc. All using my digital darkroom. A fairly dry and organized medium. Including working in a wet lab (darkroom).
Now……welcome Gelli printing, Watrcolor, Acrylics, Oils, Cold Wax Medium Remember that drawer?
Hello. . . Painting! It’s another dimension. It’s MESSY ! It’s MESSY ! - Embrace the process.
It’s like life.
As you can see, the original print on the right above is the original print made on a 8x8 sheet of paper. I liked it. I studied it.
But, I didn’t like where the yellow ink didn’t take. And the bottom right corner where the flaw in the gelli plate didn’t keep that ink.
I had a strip of red paper I want to inlay in the division between the yellow and green bottom. Wondering how it would look I decided to scan the original print on my scanner and then work on a digital file. I filled in those places and made a note card. Original, to a mini fine art print and a note card.
A new journey into the future.
